When my son was going through a Jewish phase, at about 10 years old, he insisted on singing Hanukkah songs at my friend's Christmas Eve party. After hearing about 10 days of gifts, he wanted to be a Jew (which we are not) and celebrate Christmas. He bought a menorah and his interest continued for a few years until he realized he had to actually go to Hebrew school to carry out his plan. A lot of kids do celebrate both holidays, though. As blending of faiths has grown, which side do you fall on when the holiday season arrives -- or do you go for the middle ground?
