Here's another article by Dr. Obagi, recommending exfoliating, facials, and hydrating among other tips for healthier winter skin: http://www.thirdage.com/skin/strategies-for-healthy-mid-winter-skin

I had my first spa experience at a dayspa in the middle of winter. It was a body wrap. I was clueless but felt well-taken care of as my skin was washed (part by part so you are always draped) and exfoliated and then moisturized and wrapped. It didn't cost a fortune or take too much time. And I truly felt like a butterfly emerging from a cocoon when it was over. I remember looking at people on the street and everyone looked shinier and more vibrant. Giving my body over to trained spa technicians turned out to be an out of body experience.

Temporarily, of course. Routine closed in on my feeling of being refreshed, but the feeling of being cared for lingered.

I highly recommend a spa experience for the middle of winter. Check out a dayspa in your town.

I became kind of a spa nut afterwards and preferred to spend any spare change on spa services rather than on clothing or eating out. What is your experience or do you have any questions?
